Persian Positions are one of the most exciting elements of the gameplay. They allow you to earn valuable troops, items, and experience points.
Please refer to the following article to learn more about their mechanics and why you lose some troops before you receive the rewards.
How are reward calculations made?
Rewards calculations are performed according to the special algorithm based on your troops' losses. All of your invested troops are considered for the general reward value, and depending on it, at a certain step, you receive rewards in troops, worthy items, and resources.
The reward system is randomized. Therefore, it is hard to predict the exact Persian Position that will bring the next big reward.
I attacked several Persian Positions in a row and got only intermediate rewards
The time frame between big rewards may be pretty long; in some cases, they may accumulate for more than a month of active play. At the same time, you can receive rewards for each successfully raided or defended Persian Position. These intermediate rewards are also calculated based on your total losses and constitute a part of your general reward.
The reward system considers all of your invested units, and each completed Persian Position increases the chance of receiving a great reward.
Are all my troops considered for my general reward?
All units of all types are considered while calculating your rewards.
The specific completed Persian Position can bring fewer troops than it was invested in while combating Xerxes’ army at it. However, these killed troops will surely be considered for future rewards.
It has been a long time since my last reward. When can I expect my next reward?
After getting a big reward, you always enter the period when you should be ready to invest some troops before receiving the next recompense.
However, intermediate rewards will allow you to refill your army's ranks regularly. They are also part of your general bonus, so please consider them while making your calculations.
The higher the level of the Persian Position you hit, the harder challenges you face. This is why selecting the appropriate tactics for hitting Persian Positions is important.
Campaign Missions bring you guaranteed rewards
In the Oracle, next to the Persian Positions, you will find Campaign Missions. Each one presumes a guaranteed reward that can be viewed by hovering the arrow of your mouse over the buttons "Defend" and "Attack."
The new Campaign Missions will be provided after successfully completing all five levels of the regular Persian Positions and claiming the rewards for already completed Campaign Missions. In total, you can have 24 Campaign Missions.
Persian Positions from the Quests menu
Your chances of getting spoils of war increase if you attack the Position indicated in the mission given to you on the left of the screen, not the mission your advisor gave or found in the Oracle.
It is widely known that the high-level Persian Positions presume higher rewards. Conquering the Persian Positions from the Quests menu grants receiving the ones of the higher levels.
Informed means armed - dispatch reconnaissance to the Persian Positions
You can raid and defend Persian Positions more efficiently using the following tactic: you send one unit to the Persian Position as a scout to see which Xerxes’ troops and how many of them are present there.
After that, you can estimate what troops will be more efficient in this case because all units have different efficiency standards against the hostile corps.
Considering the composition of Persian Positions forces at the Persian Position is important. If the Persian Position is full of Asvarans that are strong against Cavalry Units, and you send Macedonian Cavalry to it, your losses will be very high. That is why players send a couple of Units to determine which Xerxes’ Units are inside the Persian Position and then send the rest of the troops to get the best ratio. For instance, it would be better to attack this Persian Position with Infantry, not Cavalry Units.
Use your Imperial troops wisely
The troops of this type consume less food and have better combat performance than the regular units. However, they both have quite the same value. Hence, a wise warrior will rather save them for the PvP battles.
Why is it beneficial to raid Persian Positions when the tournament is on?
Participating in the Persian Positions Tournament gives you the chance to top up your reward value and receive rewards and perfect rewards, including troops and valuable items.
Persian Positions Tournaments are launched regularly, and in the pauses between them, you will have enough time to fill your army's ranks with newly trained units.
