In contrast to vacant Hamlets, Hamlets that are held by other players can be Spied on, Attacked and Captured.
To find this type of Hamlet, go to your Eagle’s Nest. Then, access the “Hamlets” tab and set the parameter in the left hand drop-down list to "Captured". This displays a list of captured Hamlets, showing their coordinates and who captured them. Select the Hamlet you wish to engage with, then proceed by tapping one of the three Battle Action buttons (Capture, Attack, or Espionage).
If you choose to capture a Hamlet held by another player, there will be a battle for that Hamlet between your Offensive Units and the Defensive Units of the other player. If you are successful, your Offensive Units will return to the Catacombs and your Defensive Units will remain to collect Resources. If you are unsuccessful, your surviving Units will return to the Castle but remain outside of the Catacombs.
If an Enemy captures a Hamlet you are holding, any surviving Units you have will return to your Castle empty-handed. They will not recover any Resources.
When attacking a Hamlet, it is recommended that you only send Offensive Units. Unlike the capturing mechanics, if you attack a Hamlet with both Offensive and Defensive Units, your Defensive Units WILL participate in the battle and will likely suffer heavy losses.
Attacking other players' Hamlets will not allow you to collect Resources from that Hamlet. However, you will earn both Experience Points and Ranking Points for Attacks, as well as Tournament Points if a Hamlet Tournament is active. None of your Units will remain on site to garrison the Hamlet if you attack it; all surviving Units are withdrawn to your Castle immediately following the battle.
When searching for Captured Hamlets, you should remember the following:
- You cannot engage Hamlets held by your fellow League members. In the scenario that two League Members send Units to the same Hamlet, the player who is first to arrive will be the only one allowed to engage with that Hamlet. The other player’s Units will head back to the Castle without engaging in battle.
- You cannot send Reinforcements to Hamlets controlled by other players, unless they are in your League.
