Why did we lose in the Combine Conflict despite having more Points?

This Tournament has two versions: regular Combine Conflict and Omega Combine Conflict. In the regular version, victory is determined by Points. However, in the Omega version, the Combine that wins more Categories gets the victory. 

Only if both Combines win the same number of Categories is victory determined by Points.
