Overview
Tapsites are each dedicated to producing one of the three main types of Resources (Uranium, Titanium, and Credits) along with special Resources such as Crystals or Bioplasma. There are several Tapsite sizes depending on your Level in the game. The speed at which Troops gather Resources at a Tapsite depends on the Microrobotic Drill Technology upgrade Level, and the number of Resources collected is determined by the carrying capacity of your Defensive Troops stationed at the Tapsite.
A Tapsite expires when no one has attacked or captured it for an extended period of time, or if it has been depleted of Resources.
When new Deposits or Tapsites appear on the Map, they are vacant and unguarded – so try to be first to capture one. Any player can view the number of Resources stored there by positioning their cursor over it.
Tapsite Interactions
Position your cursor over a Tapsite on the Map to view information about it.You will be able to view the number of Resources stored within it, and its status (whether the Tapsite is vacant or captured). You may also choose from a set of possible Tapsite actions, such as "Attack," "Capture," or "Recon."
Capture
Building the Radar allows you to capture Tapsites. Initially, you may capture a maximum of 3 Tapsites. To increase the number of Tapsites you may capture, go to your Tech Nexus and upgrade "Maximum Deposits and Tapsites" to Level 30.To capture a Tapsite, select it on your Map, choose the number and type of Troops you would like to send, then click "Capture." Be advised that you will need BOTH Offensive and Defensive Troops to capture a Tapsite, but only Offensive Troops will participate in the attack. All surviving Offensive Units will be returned to your Sector, and if your attempt at capturing the Tapsite was successful, they will automatically report to your Bunker. Defensive Troops will NOT engage in the battle. If you succeed, you will be able to view your captured Tapsite's information under the "Tapsites" tab at the Command Center.
Once you've captured a Tapsite, your Troops will gather Resources. Only Defensive Units can gather Resources, and the number of Resources that they can gather depends on their carrying capacity. The amount of Resources that can be collected depends on the number of Units and their total capacity. Therefore, the more Units you send, and the bigger their carrying capacity, the more Resources you can collect. Upgrade the Microrobotic Drill Technology to increase the speed at which your Troops gather Resources at Tapsites. Once your Troops have gathered all the Resources they can carry, they will be returned to your Bunker automatically.
To maintain control over a captured Tapsite, keep a large garrison of Defensive Troops stationed there. They will not only accumulate Resources, but also protect the Tapsite from invaders.
Remember that you can still attack Tapsites captured by your Allies! Choose your battles carefully, Commander – sometimes, short-term profit isn't worth losing a valuable Alliance. If your Troops are defeated, and an Enemy takes control of the Tapsite, all surviving Troops will return to your Sector empty-handed. They will not recover any Resources.
You can NOT send Joint Attacks to Capture a Tapsite.
Recon
You must have an Air Field in your Sector in order to Recon Tapsites. To recon a Tapsite, select it on your Map (or via the Radar), choose the number and type of Recon Troops you would like to send, then click the Recon button.Successful Recon missions will allow you to detect all Troops in a given Tapsite.
Purchase and position a large number of Recon Troops to protect your Tapsite from being reconned.
Attack
Any Commander can either Attack or Capture Tapsites held by other players. By attacking a Tapsite, you will NOT be able to collect its Resources, but you will be able to earn Experience Points and other Points relevant to the Rankings.Go to the Radar or find a Tapsite you wish to attack on the Map, choose the number and type of Troops you wish to send, then click "Attack".
The battle for a Tapsite takes place immediately upon your Troops' arrival at the Tapsite. None of your Troops stay to garrison the Tapsite if you attack it; all surviving Troops are withdrawn to their home Sector immediately following each engagement.
When attacking a Tapsite, it is recommended that you only send Offensive Troops. If you Attack a Tapsite with both Offensive and Defensive Troops, your Defensive Troops will participate in the battle and will likely suffer heavy losses.
You can NOT send Joint Attacks to Attack a Tapsite.
Reinforcements
To send and receive Reinforcements, research the "Artificial Intelligence" Technology and build the Command Center. You may only send Reinforcements to your own Tapsites. You may choose the number and type of Troops you wish to send via the "Tapsites" tab at the Command Center. You may also recall Reinforcements from this interface.
IMPORTANT: If you would like to recall ANY Troops which have already gathered Resources, then you must recall ALL Troops. If you wish to recall a fraction of your Troops stationed at a Tapsite, then you can only recall "empty" Troops who have not yet started gathering Resources. For example, if you have 100 Troops stationed at a Tapsite and 70 of them are "full" (at maximum carrying capacity), then you can only recall 30 of them separately from the rest. You would not be able to recall 31 or more without recalling ALL 100 Troops.
